More Pictures of Nicholas

I put some more pictures in the gallery on Saturday night. They can be found here.

We have also found out just how expensive it can be to have a kid. Sometimes you feel that you need more space and we decided that we did need more space.

Nicholas was baptised on Sunday. He was a wonderful little boy. Not a peep out of him. He slept through it all except when the water hit his forehead… he jumped, but he never started crying at all. His little tux fitted him nicely and he had most of his cousins and aunts and uncles visit him afterwards for a piece of cake. Some pictures from that can be found here.

Enjoy!

5 and a half weeks old

It’s been an interesting time these past weeks. Nicholas is growing like a weed. We already have a box of clothes started with clothes that are too small for him. He’s spent the last two nights in his own room in his own crib, and we have introduced the bottle to him with both breast milk and formula.

Nicholas usually feeds at 9 pm and hits the sack by 10 to 10:30. From there we don’t usually hear from him until around 3 am, but this morning it was 4:15. After he fed, crapped and went back to sleep he woke again around 7 am. Same drill but this time we put him in bed with us (we do this pretty much every morning!) I had the day off work so Siobhan left us in bed and We finally woke again a little after 10! What a sleep!

My friend (and Nicholas’ future Godfather) Cory left this morning at 6:30 in my truck. He headed into St. John’s to pick up a motorcycle for himself. He bought a 1996 Kawasaki Ninja ZX7R. I took it for a couple rides this evening (about 20 kms worth, Cory had only gone 3 kms at that point) and I can’t wait until I find myself a bike.

As I mentioned above about Cory being the future Godfather, I just want to let everyone know that Nicholas’ Baptism is on June 18th, Father’s Day! Cory Foster is the Godfather, and Dana Keeping is the Godmother. Hopefully Nicholas will approve of these choices! πŸ™‚

I must run now, got to try and get some sleep. I’m trying to build a fence and Cory brought home a screen house for me today so now I should be able ot get some work done without the flies trying to carry me away!

New Nicholas Pics

Hey all, it’s been too weeks of waking up throughout the night, changing dirty diapers and then going to work in the morning. It’s a tough job but we love to do it!

Nicholas is growing like a weed. Almost two weeks ago he was 9 pounds and 13 ounces (7 11 when born) and we figure he’s going to be around 11 pounds by the weighing this Wednesday. We already have a box of clothing started with stuff that he’s outgrown.

Yesterday evening was the first time I fed him. Siobhan pumped off some breastmilk for him and I finally held him while he fed. It was a wonderful feeling. Tonight we tried him with Formula for the first time. He usually eats around 9pm and then again at 3 am (his longest span throughout the day) so we are trying him on formula for the 9 pm feedings. Hopefully his little system deals with it ok.

We also took him on our first road trip on Friday. We had to go to Grand Falls to get his pictures and our (first) family portrait done. He was a great traveller. He joined us at Subway for his first dining out experience (Scallop and Bacon sub… not bad, but not something I would have again). We then sat at the McDonald’s parking lot enjoying milkshakes while he was feeding. We definatley need more space when travelling with him. The truck would never cut it for a weekend trip unless the weather was nice and we could use the box (or the camper is in tow).

Nicholas

I must run now, I can hear him snoring on the monitor and I feel like joining him. Good night all! Hope you enjoy the pics!!

P.S. New pics can be found in the usual spot.

Zzzzzzzz….

The little guy sleeps pretty good for a three week old (today!), but it’s still hard to get up in the mornings to go to work after being up with Siobhan during the night a couple of times.

I have put some more pictures in the Gallery that were taken during the babyshower as well as a bunch taken during the past week.

We had him outside with us for a few hours over the weekend. The weather has been excellent and we are glad he is getting used to being outside. We can’t wait until the nights warm up and we can try camping with him (probably in the yard first so we can escape to the house if the camper is not suitable for him).

Gotta run now,

11 Days old!

Our little guy lost his belly button thingy yesterday evening. That was a bit of a relief as it was rubbing on his belly and made a little sore spot. Nothing got infected though as we were using Polysporin on the spot to help keep it clean.

It’s been an interesting time so far. Nicholas sleeps a lot. He wakes up two to four times every night for feedings and so far his Mom is doing a wonderful job of looking out for his needs and I am trying my best to juggle work, sleep and diaper changes.

I put some more pictures in the gallery this morning. It’s funny how many people are asking me for more pictures… even when they come to visit us and have seen and bathed the little guy. Hopefully I can satisfy their demands… there’s definately no lack of pictures of him.

Gotta run now, I wish I was off of work with Siobhan and Nicholas, but we have to pay the bills somehow!

Life as a Dad is wonderful

I’m tired and I seem to have picked up some sort of cold or cough, but I am happier then I have ever been.

The little guy wakes for his feedings pretty much every three hours. Siobhan is doing a wonderful job and he seems to be filling out a little already.

Nicholas is a quiet baby. When he wakes up he will usually wimper a little. Sometimes we have to change him first, but most times it is straight to the milk! He is usually quiet when he is awake, and he keeps himself occupied by looking all over the place and having us play with him. When he does cry we know that there probably is going to be something flying out of one end or the other. πŸ™‚

I really can’t remember life without him now, he’s here, and it’s as if he’s always been here. I truly look forward to having him with us forever!

There’s more pics in the gallery for your enjoyment.

We’re Home

Nicholas is home safe and sound. We’re pretty lazy and he is having some difficulties with gas and staying latched onto Siobhan. Not much time to spend posting here right now, hopefully there will be a few more pics to post tomorrow.

Thanks again everybody for all the support!

More Nicholas!

I think it’s safe to say he’s going to be one spoiled little boy!

Nicholas

I’d like to thank everyone for the wonderful comments, they brought a tear to our eyes! Thanks for all the visitors. Some people we haven’t seen in years and others that we see day to day. The phone calls are also wonderful! Thanks for the great presents and flowers everyone, every outfit will be worn at least once, and more if he doesn’t grow too fast. We’d especially like to thank Nicholas’ Aunt Phoebe. I think we would have managed to survive without her help (though I’m not positive), but thanks to everything she did, we more then survived. She was there for every step of the birth, held Siobhan’s hand when it needed to be held (and her legs!), and provided a shoulder once or twice for my head to rest on, among countless other little things that ended up helping us make this experience everything it could possibly be!

Nicholas has been a great addition to our family and I hope everyone gets to meet him soon. I have put many more pictures and even a little video I put together in his album.

Nicholas has a few more people to meet, but he wanted to let Nanny Jeddore and Aunt Dana know that he can’t wait until they get home. He’ll be a little bigger, but he’ll try to hold off on growing too much until then!

I hope you all enjoy the pictures and video. Sorry for the lateness in putting these pics online but two other people need my attention more these days – Nicholas and His wonderful Mommy, Siobhan.

Thanks again for the comments, hopefully we’ll all be home tomorrow so feel free to give us a phone call.

Introducing Nicholas!

He finally arrived…

Nicholas

He put up quite a fight but Nicholas Jeddore was born at 6:45am today, April 24th, 2006.

After having contractions for well over 12 hours the doctor pulled out the suction machine and Nicholoas appeared after about 30 minutes of pushing. Siobhan showed me what a woman is really made of and I believe that any man would have given up long before the real pain began. All I can really say is “WOW!”

The little guy seems to take after his mom. Hopefully he will grow up to be as strong as she has proven herself to be.

More to follow later. I had to leave the hospital to post this for all to see. Thanks again Brian for the laptop, and thanks to The Mount Peyton Hotel for the wireless internet access to enable me to do this.

-8 and today we have bloody show!

-8

Bloody show, sounds kinda gross if you aren’t in the loop about pregnancy. It’s basically blood that spills before labour begins. I am loading up the CR-V in a few minutes and then we will be calling the ambulance if anything starts to progress. πŸ™‚

Rene

P.S. Siobhan wanted me to post right up until we left the house. πŸ™‚
