Nathan is quite curious everytime I start to work on a computer. He was quite happy to get his hands on the screwdriver and start fixing his Qimo computer.

When I asked Nathan today what he wanted to be when he grew up was quick to tell me he wanted to be a Policeman.

Nicholas, on the otherhand, has always been the one to say he wanted to be a computer fixer and move to Fiji… and then maybe to Africa and learn another language.

Let’s see if I can continue this blog where it left off three years ago. First of all I think I have all of the hacked stuff fixed… however a lot of links to pictures and my old gallery don’t work anymore. I’ve been working on it but with all the damage that was done by the hack I’ve pretty much given up on it now. Facebook has taken over the sharing duties that this blog once did for my family and friends so I don’t know how things will progress with this… I’ll give it a shot though.

Three years of missed blog entries… hmmmm… where to start….? The biggest thing that has happened in my life in the past three years has been the birth of our second son, Nathan. He’s about to celebrate his third Birthday in a month and he’s been a real nut to have in our family. We also have a nephew, Alexander, who was born a couple of months after Nathan.

I’ve done a bit of travel, to the Dominican Republic and Florida. I’ve seen the second last space shuttle launch.

Apple has entered our lives. Two iPhones, a couple of iPods and an AppleTV, with no end in sight. All of these devices have been hacked in some way of course. XBMC is how I watch most TV shows and Movies.

Work is the same, more or less.

And to top it all off, I’m still married to the best wife in the world, and no, she didn’t make me write this.

So that’s a quick rundown on the past three years. Hopefully I’ll keep on top of this again now!

Siobhan went to St. John’s a few weeks ago to do some Christmas shopping with her sister Dana. A couple days before she left we phoned U C Baby to see if they would do a sex determination on a Saturday. No prob. She just had to be there at 4:00pm.

Her and Dana had an amazing experience. The lady who did the ultrasound told us that it looked like a boy. The baby is a bit further along then they recommend and is bigger and more squat in the belly, but they were able to see enough to make a educated guess that it’ll be a boy!

Nicholas has had a very busy and exciting month of october.

Siobhan started putting up Halloween decorations around the house early in the month and we weren’t sure how Nicholas was going to react. The first time he came home from Daycare after most of the decorations were up he was asking questions like, “Are they happy pumpkins?” “Are they Smiling?” He was defintly unsure if he liked these new things. But with our reassurance he was fine and reallly started to love the idea of decorating and having spooky smiling decorations out!

We went to St. John’s for Thankgiving (a tradition we are hoping to continue for the years to come). His Godmom just got a Chocolate Lab puppy named Boone. This was their first time meeting, and Nicholas was scared to death. He cried at first and didn’t want the cute little fellow around. But once he got use to him he was ok. When Boone used to come around, Nicholas would curl up in a ball and say, “He’s kissing me, He’s kissing me,” and we would have to rescue him from all the kisses boone was giving. By the end of it he loved Boone and loved giving him his treats and wanted to be with him while he slept.

The day before Thanksgiving we went to Lester’s Farm. We visited the animals, ran through the corn maze, picked out our pumpkins and had a great day. Thanks again Godmom and Steve for letting us come visit.

Our most interesting experience of the trip to St. John’s was having Nicholas wake up one morning complaining about his ear. After a few minutes of trying to figure out what was wrong he proclaimed, “I got it” in a somewhat somber tone. When we turned on the light he had an earwig on his finger! Twenty minutes later we were at the Janeway and the doctor checked him out. There was a leg left in there, but nothing to worry about.

About a week ago Nicholas came down with this really nasty cold. We took him to see the nusrse but she said that he was being a trooper and that she didn’t want him to take any antibiotic, just keep doing what we were doing to help him feel better.

We carved our pumpkins and Nicholas choose the simplest one for his pumpkin. I choose the pirate’s skull and Siobhan did the Hershey Kiss one. It was fun. Nicholas wouldn’t touch the pumpkin guts but loving trying to help carve them up.

Yesterday was his first Daycare party. Nicholas was really excited to put on his GREEN SKELETON costume and Siobhan put on her Tweety costume and off we went.

Tonight is trick or treating and hopefully he will enjoy it. He seems to understand what it is all about and he knows that we have to knock on people’s doors and say Trick or Treat to get candies. Hopefully he will last and not get contrary or tired. Time will tell.

A few weeks ago Nicholas and I went to Gander for a night. The main purpose of our trip was to catch some of the Targa Newfounfland action. We got to Gander just in time to see the cars racing through the streets. We found a great spot to park so we could stay in the truck and see over the heads of the other spectators while we stayed nice and warm in the truck. Nicholas loved it, every car he saw he would ask, “Is that a Ford?” or “Is that a Corvette?” He loved it. After we were done with the racing we went to the Arena and checked out the car show. The little man loved it all. We took his picture with a bunch of car and he made sure to examine a bunch of them very carefully.
Hopefully next year’s Targa will be just as much fun for us!

This evening Nicholas and I had our Supper, a nice Prime Rib steak with some corn and a bread bun. After that we packed up our fishing rods and took the leftover corn and went fishing. A real man’s night!

We got to the little brook and Nicholas’ first interest was throwing rocks into the brook… undoubtedly the reason we never caught any fish. It wasn’t long after that he started watching his Dad fish and he grabbed up his rod and started “fishing”. We spent about fifteen minutes fishing together. I gave him some tips on how to cast his lure (with no hook) and then to reel it in. If there was a hook he would have lost it for sure with his slow reeling technique.

After this little bit of an adventure we went to hunt for a nearby Geocache. We found it without much problem (I was the one who hid it afterall) and we went through the contents. Nicholas was mainly interested in a pencil. I checked the logs to see who had signed it and then closed it all back up and we went on our way. Looks like I’ve got a real little buddy there!

What a wonderful day we had. This past Saturday, August 2nd, 2008, on the eleventh Anniversary of the beginning of our relationship Siobhan Keeping and I were married!

We had a pretty busy time leading up to the wedding but the wonderful people at Gros Morne Resort as well as Sister Margaret McLaughlin at “Our Lady of the Coast” Church made everything work out perfectly. The Resort was perfect and catered to our every need. The food was delicious at the wedding and at the Resort’s in-house restaurant. The rooms were great and the prices were wonderful. Nothing expensive, but everything seemed like it should have been.

Siobhan made a beautiful bride and Nicholas helped her father walk her up the Aisle. I managed to hold my composure for most of it, even though I probably sounded like a squeaky mouse while saying my vows.

We would like to thank everyone who helped to make our special day so much more special. I spent a wonderful three hours with my Grandfather the morning of the wedding while driving to and from Deer Lake to get the flowers and cake. What a great wedding gift that was! We would also like to thank everyone for the wonderful gifts we received.

John Nick Jeddore did our photos and I will be sure to post some as soon as he gets them together for us.

Our camper is sold. After two years of ownership ( the longest we’ve had any camper!) we finally sold this machine. We really didn’t have the time to use it, I hated hauling it (31 feet long from end to end) and I was sick of paying for a lawn ornament. One day we’ll have another camper, but it will be much smaller and lighter.

I had a fun time dropping it off. I picked up the new owner and we headed to the location where he wanted to park it. He started to guide me in the little road and I kept asking if she was going to make the turn. He kept telling me to come on. I watched the camper in my mirrors as it tilted more and more. I kept asking and he kept telling me to come on. Then she stopped. The truck couldn’t move her forward or back. He told me that he figured she would have made the turn but the two passenger side wheels ended up just in the ditch and the front and rear levelling jacks dug into the ground too far. Luckily he had a Bobcat front end loader down the road and was able to use it to lift the rear of the camper while I slowly moved forward. Some minor damage occured, but nothing serious. The jacks were bent back a little and his Bobcat damaged the diamond plate cover on the rear bumper.

On a side note, I sent this picture to my brother without any explanation and he thought the worst had happened. After he wrote me I looked at the picture and realized that it does look much worse then it was.
