Not your standard cheap toothbrush!

I was watching The Screen Savers on TechTV the other day and Kevin Rose showed how to modify a toothbrush. It was a pretty rough modification with batteries taped around it. I immediately saw potential with my Crest SpinBrush Pro which takes 2 AA batteries instead of the single battery models he used.

I sized up the toothbrush and a single 9 volt battery almost fit. I looked a little and discovered the problem could be solved with my handy Dremel tool (a Craftsman model actually). I opened up the bottom of the toothbrush just enough to fit the 9 volt battery in. The contacts for the AA batteries lined up perfectly with the contacts of the 9 volt battery and I was off to the races.

I have been warned* not to use this thing on my teeth though and I am kinda afraid of what it might do to my gums but it sure sounds cool! I also take no responsibility if you happen to try this and your teeth go flying out of your head.

Here’s a few pics to enjoy!
